That is why I am a great believer in the saying; It takes a village to raise a child.

I am Heleen van Beers and certified sleep coach and founder of One Two Dream. I am a mom of 3 children. Our first daughter was an excellent sleeper so I thought: all babies sleep. With son number 2 I found out that this is a bit more nuanced. With all the knowledge I had gained as a sleep coach and experienced expert, I knew how important it is to provide rest, regularity and rhythm for a baby. And that helped us tremendously with our3rd child who was also dealing with cow's milk allergy.

I know better than anyone how overwhelming that first period can be. With your first, but certainly also with your next child. The split you feel you're always in. The uncertainty of whether you are there for your child(ren). What you are doing wisely and whether you are doing it right. It is sometimes difficult to look objectively and neutrally at how things are really going. Sometimes it all seems much harder, more difficult and worse than it actually is. And then you feelyou have to make choices all day long about where to sleep, when to sleep, how to sleep, when to go outside, how to feed, when to practice lying on your belly, when to bathe and so on.

As a sleep coach I like to think along with parents. In a practical, honest and realistic way together looking for what suits both parents and baby. You don't have to do it alone. As a new parent there is often a lot to deal with and it's nice to have someone who looks along with you and gives you advice, thinks along with you and can give concrete and practical tips. Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees. That is why I am a great advocate of the saying; It takes a village to raise a child.
