The Piko helps to find a nice sleep rhythm. Follow the advice in the PIKO App: Google Playstore or Apple Appstore .
In this manual you will find all the necessary information to use the product correctly. Read it before use.
With the PIKO you get: 1. PIKO frame with Cap (adjustable in two sizes) 2. PIKO sheets (2 sizes) 3. PIKO POD 4. PIKO App ( Google playstore or Apple Appstore ) 5. PIKO Bag 6. PIKO mattress (optional)
Take the PIKO out of the bag and place it in front of you.
Unfold the frame with the Cap
Raise the frame (middle arch) and click it into place
There is a wooden pin on one side of the PIKO. Secure the frame at the bottom with this wooden pin.
Tighten the cap securely around the frame at the head end. The head end is the side where the PIKO logo is on the Cap. Please note that you place the cap around the upright arch from the bottom.
You can close the PIKO completely by stretching the Cap at the foot end over the frame. Please note that for the small size you will need to roll up the fabric several times to ensure it fits properly.
This step is only necessary if you want to let your child sleep in the PIKO unattended. Stretch the sheet under the frame. To do this, use the buttonholes in the sheet and place them around the black buttons. The label on the sheet must be placed at the headboard (where the PIKO logo is also located).
Attach the POD to the PIKO. This can be done with the magnets at the head end or foot end.
The PIKO is now ready for use!
Place the PIKO in a place where you want your child to sleep. Before you place your baby in the PIKO, you can open the PIKO completely using the pull/turn knobs. To do this, pull out both black buttons at the same time, then you can open the Cap by turning the buttons backwards.
You can then place your little one in the PIKO, raise the PIKO and close it completely if necessary.
Whether you use the PIKO open or closed depends on your own preference. In both cases you create a familiar and low-stimulus environment for your baby. On busier days it can be nice to close the PIKO completely.
The POD provides dim light and a familiar sound, which also turns on automatically when your baby starts crying. You can set the POD entirely to your own wishes via the App.
Turn on the POD using the power button on the bottom of the POD by pressing and holding it for three seconds. When the POD turns on you will hear a sound. Turning off works the same way.
Check whether the POD is sufficiently charged. You can see this from the status light.
When the POD is on, the status light glows softly once every four seconds: - Green: Sufficiently charged - Orange: Less than a quarter charged - Red: Almost empty
The built-in rechargeable battery works for three days to a week. Exactly how long the POD lasts depends on how often the sound or light is on.
Is the status light red or not lit at all? Then charge the POD. The POD can be charged within two hours with a USB charger. During charging, the light is steady orange; when charging is complete, the light is solid green.
Note It may be that charging does not work with a fast charger with USB-C output (small rounded plug). Then use a charger with USB-A output (larger square plug) with a USB-A to USB-C cable.
You turn on the light by pressing one of the light buttons (+ or -). By pressing one of these buttons longer, you adjust the light intensity. By default, the light goes off again after 2 minutes (you can change this via the app). You can turn off the light by pressing both buttons at the same time or by long pressing the '-' button.
You turn on the sound by pressing one of the volume buttons (+ and -). By pressing one of these buttons longer, you adjust the volume. By default, the sound turns off after 5 minutes (you can change this via the app). You can turn off the sound by pressing both buttons at the same time or by long pressing the '-' button.
The app tries to detect when your baby is crying. The selected sound will then be played for 2 minutes. This can also be adjusted via the app. Use of sound We recommend setting one sound for going to sleep and possibly another sound for continuing to sleep. Once you have selected these sounds, we recommend that you do not change these sounds anymore. The sounds ensure that your baby experiences the PIKO as a familiar environment and this only works if he hears the same thing over and over again. It is possible to record sound yourself via the PIKO App. This could also be the mother's voice. This gives your baby a very secure feeling. To record, you can simply be talking to someone. It doesn't really matter what you say, as long as you use your normal voice that is recognizable to your little one.
With the PIKO App you can set the POD to your liking, keep a sleep diary that is linked to the POD and you have access to a coaching environment to find a nice rhythm for your little one.
Download the App: Google playstore or Apple Appstore .
You've already done this.
Start the App and press the button for Bluetooth connection for at least 3 seconds (this is located on the bottom of the POD). The status light will now flash to indicate that the POD is ready to connect and once the App is connected the light will turn solid blue.
To disconnect the connection, close the App on the phone. The POD will remain ready to connect for another 30 seconds (light flashing blue). If you start the App again within this time, it will automatically reconnect to the POD.
Can't connect? Then turn the POD off and then on again; also close the App (for Android 'back' on the main screen; for iPhone the home button or – for newer models – swipe from the bottom of the screen). Then put the POD back into connection mode as described above and restart the App.
Note After making the connection, the App checks whether there is a new version of the software on the POD. If so, the App will say 'Update Firmware'. This will take a few minutes. During this time, do not close the App or switch to another App, otherwise it will start all over again the next time.
You can set the sound volume, the intensity of the light and the duration of both sound and light of the POD via the App. To try out how loud the volume or how strong the light is for each of the modes, press the play icon or the sun.
To choose a different sound, press the music icon. In the next screen you can choose one of the pre-selected sounds. You can also choose a sound fragment yourself by pressing the folder icon. Or you can record a sound by pressing the microphone.
The numbers indicate how large a sound fragment is and after the line how much space is available. If the fragment is too large, you cannot transfer it. To send the sound to the POD, press the Upload/Transfer button.
The diary indicates when your little one slept and when he was restless.
You can enter when your baby has slept via the App. You do this by entering what time your baby went to sleep and what time he woke up again. When your baby was restless is detected by the POD. When the POD reconnects to the App, this data is passed to the App and displayed in the Diary.
By keeping the diary you gain insight into your baby's sleeping pattern. You can read more about this in the advice in the App. Here it is explained how sleeping works and which approach is suitable for a certain age. Example rhythms are also given per age category.
You can easily fold the PIKO and take it with you.
Loosen the sheet at the headboard.
The sheet can remain on the buttons if you find this easier.
When the PIKO is closed, loosen the Cap from the foot end. Use the pull/turn knobs to lower the upright bow backwards. Make sure all fabric is tucked back properly.
You can now fold the PIKO from the head side to the foot side.
Ready to go!
The PIKO can be set up in two sizes. The smallest size has a length of 74 cm, the largest size has a length of 96 cm. We recommend using the smallest size until your baby no longer fits properly. The PIKO is supplied in the smallest size. If your baby has outgrown the smallest size, you can convert the PIKO to a larger size.
Loosen the two screws in the middle on the inside and remove the raised arch. Please note: The black buttons must remain in place in the arc. So DO NOT turn it out of the arc!
Slide the frame arches apart to the largest size. Place the smallest arch (of the headboard) on the inside.
Replace the raised arch (with black knobs) and tighten the screws.
Screw on
You can wash the sheets in the washing machine at 30 o C. The sheets can possibly be dried in the dryer.
The PIKO can be cleaned with a wet cloth. Make sure to remove the POD before cleaning PIKO. If PIKO has become very dirty, the PIKO may be rinsed with lukewarm water - for example in the shower. Then you can dry most of it with a cloth and the rest can air dry.
The POD may be cleaned with a damp cloth. Never submerge the POD in water!
